Is this really winter?

You wouldn't think so looking at this photo! This was the scene yesterday up in Whangarei. We've had some beautiful clear days lately up here in the 'Winterless North'.

It's still my ambition to move farther toward you in a few years. I can learn to adapt to such 'awful' winter days!

Yes, although today it is stormy and raining but we definitely have our fair share of clear fine days too!

What a lovely photo, and it looks like you have a much brighter sunlight than we do here in the Northern hemisphere!

Hi Bridget, it has been lovely and sunny here during the Northland days, Dargaville, where I work has been the same - bit chilly at night though.

Nights here in The Blue Mountains are C O L D!!! Chickens water is freezing every night. Awesome Lunar halo tonight though because icy clouds are very high up.
During lengthening sunny days I have tackled monster Ivy that has grown into a tree-strangling tree with a mattress blanket of inpenetrable roots.(70-odd years growth. I have the bruises and achey ribs to prove it aswell. The roots burn well.
Our Chilean Chicken is laying blue eggs.

Hi Matron, yes the light is different here compared to the UK. Gather you're enjoying a heatwave over there at present :-)

Hi Amy, another great day today too wasn't it. T shirts in the middle of winter, gee it's a hard life!

Hi Dr Mum, so you are still waging war on the ivy! Good to hear you're getting blue eggs from the chooks. Mine aren't laying yet. Have just started feeding them sprouted grains which I read are far more nutritious (will post on this soon).
